My first Playdate!!!
Ever since our babies were born another mother and I had always said how we needed to get together and chat and have out babies roll around and play together...well finally 6 months later we did it!!! I was soooooooooo excited to have company over for the first time...a real play date! All morning long I straightened up and cleaned toys and made sure my baby was well napped and fed so he would be delightful for his new friend. There was so much anticipation on my part...this was the first time I was really going to branch out there and make an attempt at making friends and starting relationships as a mother!!! I felt like I was getting ready for a date or something the way I fussed over my hair and clothes and the house...I wanted to make a good impression ya know! My baby and I anxiously waiting, looking out the window. I kept telling him he was going to meet a new friend today!!! When they finally arrived I greeted them at the door and welcomed them in! The babies had fun, rolling around on each other, snacking on each others feet, finding each others ears!!! It was so sweet seeing them interact!!! I actually found myself communicating with another mother in the middle of the day!!! It was great...we chatted about yoga and motherhood and all things baby. Im so proud of myself...this is the start!!!
Happy 4th of July!
Finally some time to actually sit down and type!!! Naptime once again for the little man and husband too!!! Haha. So it's been 2 months since my last entry and a few things have come my way that I have found to be helpful in my search and mission to start a sisterhood or mothers!!! I've started attending a yoga class at my local YMCA to help get back into better physical and mental shape since the baby. I have learned so much from attending and LOVING the way it has made me feel and cleared my thoughts! I am finding myself not as restless about this new change in my life and learning to except it and embrace it. I'm not as anxious about not having a support group but still looking for something. Thanks to facebook I have been able to connect with old friends who have now become mothers or little boys right around the age of my son. One girl has a little boy that is 11 days older and the other has a little boy that is a few weeks younger, so it is really great to have them to chat with because they are going through the same things!!!
This is my start!!!
